Meet Our Skilled Cabinet Making Team

Neil Taylor Cabinetmaker & Design are a Warkworth based business that has been producing gorgeous wooden furniture and cabinetry since 2011.

Neil Taylor graduated as an award-winning apprentice, and after gaining years of experience, began his own cabinet making business.

Neil quickly expanded his business and moved to larger premises in Glenmore Drive, Warkworth.

This allowed Neil to open a showroom, employ a larger team of skilled cabinetmakers and gave him twice as much floor space in the workshop.

Neil Taylor

I have been interested in cabinetmaking since I first started making small wooden boats in the shed with my grandad. It was then I knew I wanted to work with wood, so when an apprenticeship came up, I jumped at the opportunity.

During my apprenticeship I received the “John Tiddy Memorial Award”. It was a huge honour to travel to Australia to have this award presented to me. I then continued working and gaining experience before I decided to step out and open my own factory.

The last ten years have been a very rewarding journey. During this time the company has grown from just me to now having five other employees. What I find most enjoyable in my job is turning a client’s dream in to reality. I take pride in all the jobs that leave the factory, no matter how big or small they may be. Our attention to detail is what keeps our customers satisfied and recommending us to others.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my two boys and my wife, getting out fishing, swimming in the summer and working on my classic car.

I was born and trained in the U.K. and I have a City and Guild 555 in advanced cabinetmaking and a BA Honours degree in furniture design and construction.

I am experienced in all aspects of period and modern cabinetmaking.

I have been doing admin duties for NTCD on and off over the past ten years between raising our two beautiful boys.

The highlight of the job is seeing the amazing work that the team create and hearing from the many happy clients after the installation of their new cabinetry.
